For 48 years, the Pumpkin Ball has been a celebrated tradition in Wetaskiwin, bringing our community together for a night of generosity, excitement, and impact. Through this incredible event, we have raised close to $800,000 in the last 12 years alone, funding essential accessibility projects, specialized vehicles, and life-changing services for individuals with disabilities.

A Legacy of Giving

The Pumpkin Ball is more than just a fundraiser—it’s a symbol of community spirit. Thanks to your generosity, the event has:

✔ Fully funded the construction of an accessible home
✔ Purchased several accessible vehicles over the decades
✔ Funded AEDs for all WDACS sites and critical home renovations (2020)
✔ Retrofitted a garage and ramp for an accessible van (2021)
✔ Contributed to the purchase of an accessible minivan (2022)
✔ Raised nearly $90,000 in both 2023 and 2024 – the most in Pumpkin Ball history!

What is the Pumpkin Ball?

The Pumpkin Ball is an evening of entertainment, excitement, and giving back, featuring our famous pumpkin auction. Each year, one-of-a-kind, handcrafted pumpkins—ranging from intricately painted pieces to masterfully sculpted creations—are sold to the highest bidder, with all proceeds going directly to support WDACS programs.

The event has a history of selling out and selling big! Our talented auctioneers make it an unforgettable experience:

Gerald Zimmerman has generously donated his auctioneering services for over 30 years.
Keagan Elder has joined the auctioneering team for the last three Pumpkin Balls.

Through the talent and passion of our auctioneers, they have helped WDACS raise close to $800,000 in the last 12 years.
